Format of the program

The sessions are interconnected, and the amount of time spent on each topic can vary depending on the needs of the group. All sessions include learning about what mental health is and is not and helping young people identify support they can easily access.

Topics covered may include:

  • Resilience
  • Coping strategies
  • Emotions and feelings
  • Self-care
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Sadness

Who can take part in these sessions?

Our FOCUS program is being delivered in 2 different ways:

  1. In school - small group sessions are delivered in schools in collaboration with teachers and support staff. Individual schools decide on group size and participants.
  2. In the community – These groups are for 13 -16-year-olds. You can sign up and join our community-run group in the evening at one of our youth centers.
