Activities & Life Skills Courses
Youth Night
Ages 12-16, Various locations
Tuesdays, 7 PM - 8:30 PM (Jan. 21 - Mar. 11) OR
Thursdays, 7 PM - 8:30 PM (Jan. 23 - Mar. 13)
Cost: $50
Youth Night is a non-competitive, co-ed recreation program for all youth ages 12-16. Each Youth Night program includes 8 weeks of fun activities around the city of Abbotsford. The main purpose of Youth Night is to encourage youth to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle through exercise and play. Our Youth Nights provide youth with the opportunity to try new sports and activities in a fun atmosphere with no pressure to perform. No skill is required, just a willingness to try.
Babysitter's Course
Ages 11 - 15
$65
Winter's courses happen at various times: Jan. 25's course takes place on a Saturday, Feb. 14's course is a Pro-D Day Friday, and March's course takes place the first week of Spring Break.

Leadership Programs
L.E.A.D. (Lead, Explore, and Develop)
Dates of sessions: Thursdays, April 3 - May 1, 2024 (with some other optional sessions too)
Time: 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Cost: $50
For grades: 9-12 (ages 14 - 18)
L.E.A.D. (Lead, Explore, And Develop) is a 5-week program where youth take on planning and implementing a BC Youth Week event for the first week of May.
With fun team-building games and activities, LEAD members will build self-confidence, create positive life skills and develop a sense of responsibility to the community.
**Financial assistance is available for families who can't afford the registration cost
Changemakers
Ages 16 - 18, February 5, 6:00-7:30pm @ ARC (registration required)
Cost: free!
Join United Way BC’s Hi Neighbour for an inspiring workshop designed to help you become a leader and a changemaker! Their Pathway to Community Engagement & Impact session is packed with opportunities to:

- Create Impactful Projects
The session is filled with engaging discussions on real community issues, practical exercises, and collaborative team projects. Plus, you can apply for our “Local Love” microgrant of up to $1,000 to kickstart your community-focused projects.

Youth Centre Leadership Team

Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm
This group meets once a week to learn new leadership skills, meet new friends, and have a say about what activities happen in our Youth Centres.

Free Programs
Drop-In Youth Centres
Our free youth drop-in for ages 12-18 will re-open after the winter break on January 6* (the last day of fall drop-in will be on December 20).
We will be open at both our youth centres (MRC and ARC) five days a week from 2:30-4:30PM with extended hours until 6:00PM on Fridays. Youth can enjoy a variety of activities, free snacks, and more fun at our fully staffed youth centres.
Friday Dinner
Ages 12 - 18, @ BOTH Youth Centres
Various dates*
Help prepare (and eat) dinner for yourself and the youth centre. Once a month on a Friday we have family style sit-down dinners at the centres where youth get a chance to connect with their peers and enjoy a great meal together.
Open Gym
Ages 12-18, @ ARC Youth Centre
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:15-4:30pm*
Play basketball, badminton, nine square, soccer, volleyball, and more! Entrance through the youth centre.
