Youth Focus is for youth 12-17 years old intended to focus on issues that youth in our communities are having to deal with. By providing a safe environment youth are able to share their concerns about issues and also learn about different topics they are interested in! Thus far we have worked on building a safe environment with our Roots of Respect activity, had discussions about belongingness and the AYC motto “Everyone Belongs” and this upcoming week plan to discuss and do an activity on the differences between leaders and bosses.

We strongly believe that youth should be involved in activities and discussions about topics rather than a facilitator presenting an idea to them. We strive to encourage youth participation in all of our activities which allows them to gain valuable hands on experience!

Youth Focus occurs on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00 at the ARC Youth Center and 5:00-6:00pm on Thursdays at the MRC Youth Centre.
